Mary Davis, the senior s Social Club at The Fairfield Centre, Worcester

I was born in 1937. I do not remember much about the war as I was still a small child
My father William Turner served in the Royal Engineers. He served for some time in France and was also at Dunkirk when they were trying to get the troops back
He came back to England and finished his time with bomb disposal.
I also have a birthday card which he sent my mother in 1942.
I started school in 1942 and remember the air raids and having to go down the underground shelter
