I was born in October 1932, and we lived on the outskirts of London. On the outbreak of war I was evacuated briefly to Suffolk, during the Blitz I was again evacuated to Radstock, Somerset, but my mother wanted me back again, and I was back home, late September/early October 1940. I was lastly evacuated just after D-Day to Yeovil, Somerset for 3 Months. I had three brothers who served in the RAMC, the RAF, and the RA, respectively, all surviving the war.

My career was as a Librarian, and I read extensively and vorasciously about the war, I have also been a life-long modelmaker many of my models being military
