I met my husband in India in 1942. He was in the Royal Signals and I was in the Army. As soon as the superiors found out that any soldier was courting a local girl, they would get them posted. My (would become) husband got posted 500 miles away but we carried on courting by writing letters to each other. We got married in 1943. We got moved all around India and tnen came to England in 1945.
