My Father, Philip Roy Gallop, served in Bombay — and upon his arrival in 1943 he was issued with a book called “Welcome to Bombay”.
It has lots of useful local information, included a map with the ‘out of bounds’ sections.
This story was submitted to the People’s War site by Becky Barugh of the 91ȱ Radio Shropshire CSV Action Desk on behalf of Keith Gallop who very kindly shared it with us. It has been added to the site with Mr Gallop’s permission and he fully understands the site's terms and conditions.
