16 years old and in hospital during the war I remember the nurses told me if a the water tower above the Rock Hill hospital was struck during araid the children would drown. During a Clydebank blitz raid as a kids in the hospital we were not lifted in to shelter but placed under the beds.

During the blitz houses were targeted instead of the clyde due to the moons reflection on the water.

I also remember the local pool being bored up to be used as a first aid post. My mother was head nurse, she used to help those who had been injured during the blitz.
When the siren sounded people had to walk from Riddrie to twn head which is about 8 miles. Once we reached the first aid post we were given the all clear and had to walk back.

The sound of the bombs are very distinct in my mind. One instance I remember my grandfather getting dressed and my mother asked what are you doing " Well if Hilter is coming I must be dressed for him"
