My gran stayed in Birmingham . She picked a lot of blackcurrants from our allotment. She sent them by post to us, so that we could make some jam. We saved our sugar ration up and my aunt said she would make some jam. When I came home from school one day I thought I鈥檇 have some jam but my aunt was crying. It turns out she was cooking some liver which was hard to get at the same time she鈥檇 made 10 lbs. of jam. She left it to cool on the window ledge, when a bottle of disinfectant fell off the top shelf, hit the jars and ruined the jam! So after all the work we had to throw it away.
