My mother-in-law made my wedding dress. I was told it was the last bit of silk from Nottingham Market. I borrowed my head-dress and veil. I got a blue briesmaids dress as well. Had a bit of trouble getting the shoes. I wanted red roses and tried to get them until the last minute but couldn't get them so had to have chrysanthemums instead!
The night I got married in 1941, I went to stay with my brother. My husband tripped up when he carried me up the stairs and that was funny!
