I was about 10 years old when my older Brother Hubert was taken prisoner of war - he served with the Gordon Highlanders in Germany.This upset us all but more so my mother Isabella who often wept openly whilst in her rocking chair.

Even today my brother still won't talk about what happened to him. My mother always spoiled him after he cam home and this is something that she always did!
