When the War started I was at school. I was evacuated to North wales from London. I lived in Essex and when the blitz started they moved us out from London to North Wales. I was at Grammar School in North Wales and then I volunteered to join the Navy in 1943. After my taining I was sent to what we call costal forces. At MTB there was motor gun boats and motor launchers. I was based at Lowestoft, after several months there I was sent back to Portsmouth to go and see their army.
