My father served in the artillery units in Burma. One day a Japanese bomber came over and hs friend tried to shoot it down. The bomber was only damaged and my father's friend was charged for firing too many rounds without permission!
They also worked on the railway. One day my dad found a crushed tomato. He put it out to dry and then planted the seeds. He grew six plants from it and took the tokatos to the M.O. for them to use.
When he came home he didn't talk too much. His health was very poor.
