"This story was submitted to the People's War site by a volunteer from csv Gloucester on behalf of Edna with her permission. Edna fully understands the site's terms and conditions".
I was born in 1940 in the midst of an air raid. Unfortunately, after my birth the mid - wife went back to her hostel and in the bombing raid that followed, she was killed.
We lived near the H.P.Sauce factory in Ladywood, Birmingham and after it was bombed, I remember playing on the site.
