I went to Hong Kong in November 1941 and the Japanese attacked on 8th December. Over 100 were killed in the fighting which was over by Christmas Day. We were instructed to fly the white flag.
I then spent 3 years and 9 months as a Japanese Prisoner of War.
I left in September 1944, later that month the "Lisbon Maru" carrying many POW's, was
hit by an American submarine. No-one knows how many were killed. I am lucky to be alive. I still have bad dreams about getting away from the Japanese.
