My Great Grandmother was outside carrying her baby[that was only a few weeks old]when the bombs landed.
My mother told me that the force of bombs blasted the little baby boy,Thomas,out of her arms.
She also told me that she could not find Thomas after he was blasted out of her arms.
I asked my Great Grandmother if she had any artefacts from the war.She replied "no,I was happy to have my memories of Thomas and the rest of my family.That was something the Germans couldn't take away from me".
This is just one of the horrific stories I know from WW2.
To this very day my Great Grandmother doesn't talk about it.
