While convalescing in Torquay in June 1942, we were waiting for the gong to go for lunch when a plane flew over the bay, there was a boat in the bay (a fishing one I think). I saw the plane drop something it was a direct hit on the boat. I remember that both ends of the boat came up and met and then it went straight down. The lifeboat went out from Brixham. I don鈥檛 know if there were any survivors.
We went in for lunch. The sirens went off after about ten minuets later followed by the all clear.
