My Father was in the Royal Marines and when he was in England My Mother and I would go a stay where he was stationed. We were living in Chatham or it may have been Deal.

One night, my Mother had put the dinner on the table and we were just about to eat when there was an enormous explosion. The table lifted off the floor I was thrown out of my chair and our dinner was on the ceiling. Needless to say we went hungry that night.
