On the Rajputana

We were living in Egypt in 1939, but as war was imminent, we were evacuated back to England in March 1939. We left from Port Said aboard the Rajputana.

This photograph is of Mother and I on the way back from Egypt — as we travelled on the ‘Rajputana’ ship.

This story was submitted to the People’s War site by Becky Barugh of the 91ȱ Radio Shropshire CSV Action Desk on behalf of Mrs Julia Frost who very kindly shared it with us. It has been added to the site with her permission and she fully understands the site's terms and conditions.
