My grandma Ivy Liffen was in the ATS she worked on a gun crew among other jobs. She made friends with a lady called Rene the day she joined the Army and stayed friends until she died. My grandma鈥檚 brother, Bill was also in the army. He was captured in France quite early on in the War and was a prisoner of War for 4 years. I think gran made lots of friends but also had many scary times during her War.
