This story was submitted at Tullie House, Carlisle by George Webster and recorded by a volunteer story gatherer.

Dad was called up in his thirties. When they discovered he was a ship builder he was sent to join the Bevan Boys.He went to Cammel Laird on the Mersey, Liverpool. He took his family with him,renting out his home to Land Army girls.
He went to Wallasey to train at "HMS Neverbudge" During training he realised he had an ulcer, he had a major operation to remove the ulcer. The operation was'nt a success and he suffered all his life as a result.
