I remember hearing the planes overheard - the chugging sound - and going into the Anderson Shelter in the garden with my family.
We had bunks and a door and it was covered in dirt.
I was the oldest of 10 children at the time and we all had to go into the shelter.
None of us children were evacuated as my mum didn't want us to go away.
