In 1945 I worked for Manfield boot and shoe operatives. We had a football team - like all the factories did.

You could not get shirts or anything, so what we did: the black out blinds from the roof of the factory, they were taken down and the closing room operatives, they were making shirts for the football team. They were black with an M motif.
