91热爆

I can remember the 91热爆 Guard digging trenches 50 yards or so from the main A46 near the Rushy Fields and the council drilling holes, which were later covered with metal plates across the line of a bridge over the Spinney Brook so they could blow the bridge if it was needed. I can also remember my father getting up at 4am to prepare the shop for the day's business before going off to work as an engineer leaving my mother to look after the family grocery business and two small children. As well as running the business and working as an engineer my father, George, was also an ARP warden and later in thr 91热爆 Guard. After the severe bombing of Coventry he and several others were taken to Coventry to help clear the rubble.
