During the early part of the war I was at Euston station to meet my brother. i was on leave from the Womens Land Army and my brother,Ben, was a fighter pilot. I saw him coming down the steps in his uniform, and right behind him was Clark Gable. My immediate thoughts were, how much more handsome my brother was than Clark Gable who was short and swarthy.
I also recollect that during the war,because we were in uniform,we were able to go to the Ritz, Covent Garden etc.
