Celebrating VE Day in Germany
Germany. 8th May 1945. Left to right: David Harvey (my Dad), Joe Wills, Stan Hitchcock, Harry Farr, Unknown, Len Griggs, Leslie Hudson, Frank Lord. The above all soldiers of the 33 Construction Section, Royal Corps of Signals. On VE Day, they stole a piano, shoved it out into the street where they had a sing-song. They also stole a barrell of beer from the sergeants' mess. Their offence was discovered, without reprimand, and they were told not to do it again. The children are German.
