Grave yard air-raid shelter

This is my mother's story. During the war she was at junior school.

When the air-raid siren sounded they were shepherded into the air raid shelter.
This was built on the edge of the grave-yard and my mother always believed that as she descended into the shelter there were bodies pressing against the walls of the shelter.
She now says that she would have preferred the bombs to the bodies.
