91热爆

I was in the 91热爆 Guard during the war and on duty at Forest Hall railway station one night I "put someone's lights out", as the expression goes!

There was an air raid on, and although these days Forest Hall township might not look too important to outsiders it was then, and now on the main railway line from London to Scotland so it wouldn't have done for it to have been bombed.

The air raid blackout was in force when I noticed someone had lit a light in their house. I picked up my rifle, took a pot-shot at the light and put it out!

When I got back to headquarters I reported to the Commanding Officer.........who promptly rocketed me, but the complemented my audacity in keeping the area safe!
