I was driving on convoy all around the countryside of Northumbria, across farmers fields. I was towing a ack ack gun. This was a mock fight, in preparation for the real thing. We went round in a ring, miles around, across fields of corn. We had to keep going, stop at nothing! Sometimes we had to go straight through hedges. As we approached our final round up, in a very large field. In front of us were hundreds of hares all running round in a ring, because we had pushed foreward across the fields the hares had no where to go. After we stopped we opened one side up to let them free. I have never seen anything quite like it, long legs running for their lives. It was a wonderful sight.
