Somehow word got round that Bananas would be available in town. I remember going to Bedford with my Father, a regular shopping trip, we queued all morning out side Dudney and Johnson the Grocers. Having never seen bananas before my sister and I didn鈥檛 know what to do with them and didn鈥檛 dare eat them until we got home.
