My memories of 1943 were wartime memories. After gaining certificates in First Aid and 91热爆 Nursing, I was asked to help at the A.R.P. post, which was held in the Church Hall. The volunteer nurses were on duty several hours a week and were prepared to cope with any emergencies that may arise. We worked alongside the 91热爆 Guard. When the 91热爆 Guard staged their mock battles, usually at the Shirland Colliery on sunday, we were on duty in the ambulance room ready for any casualties to be brought in. This could be great fun, especially if you wanted to get even with anyone. Happily, the casualties were not real.
