My father was a baker and we had a shop - we were brought up in the shop.
My father was in his 30's.
If you were fit you had to do something.
There were air raid precautions and my father was a supervisor.
The air raid shelter was near St. Margarets Bus Station.
The supervisor had to check people went down.
We went down a lot.
We went down the steps and went into an underground smelly brick built cave.
There were bunks and you needed warm clothes and stayed there until it was safe.
I would go down with my mother, father and sister.
