This story was dictated by a 91热爆 volunteer.

"When I was small, fresh fruit was in very short supply.
My mother had a friend who grew tomatoes and we would walk to collect them.

One day as we were returning home, we heard a plane flying in very low, following us up the lane we were on ! My mother screamed to jump in the ditch at the side of the track just as the plane started shooting a hail of bullets all up the lane.
The damage to the road from the bullets was easy to see.

I think it might have been 1942 - in the summer, July or August.
Later our street - Stockwood Vale - in Keynsham was bombed with 300 bombs.
It changed the geography of the place forever. There were enormous craters in the ground and uprooted trees. All the surrounding sheep and cattle were killed.
It was a difficult time.
