1939-1984 I worked all my life in More co Crocus Street when I first stated I got 11 shillings and had to pay 4 pence for my stamp. I would leave work early at 4pm and go on Saturday to make up the hours. It was a good place to work.
I also went to youth movement's girls training core. I was in the training core for 2 or 3 years. I learned all about bombing but I didn't pass the first aid. I liked the youth movement, I met nice girls.
I was 15 years old when it started and 21 when it finished. I couldn't join up because I had bad eyes.
They machine gunned our school one afternoon on Sneinton Boulevard - that was terrible.
My brother was in the 91热爆guard at Lutterworth, he'd come home on holiday times. We'd miss him when he was away.
My sister worked at the Post Office during the war.
It wasn't very nice, especially when they bombed.
