Sherrie Hewson began her screen career in the early 1970's with television appearances in Z Cars and Within These Walls.

She also joined the Carry On team for Carry On Behind and starred in several episodes of the Carry On Laughing television series.

Sherrie played Maureen Naylor in Coronation Street from 1993 until 1997, and she is also well known for playing Virginia Raven in Crossroads.

She is a regular panelist on ITV1's Loose Women, with her "Come on, let's hear you!" catchphrase when the audience applaud.
