Just as director Kevin Donovan doesn't seem to know how to use Jackie Chan in "The Tuxedo", this DVD release squanders the opportunity to get the most out of him. Chan still shines through, though, and the presentation of the movie is technically good.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
Picture The image quality on offer here is every bit as sharp as the tailoring on Chan's tuxedo.
Sound The 5.1 sound mix is punchy and effective.
SPECIAL FEATURES
Making Of This 13-minute featurette suffers too much from a cheesy voiceover and a focus on plot and character description. There is some good behind-the-scenes footage of Jackie in action, including a great scene with him and James Brown rehearsing dance moves.
The Cutting Room Floor You can tell the film was an untidy mix of ideas as you'll find nine deleted and three extended scenes here. Most of the material is dull plot mechanics, although there is a killer scene with Jackie Chan and James Brown that's worth seeking out. There's also seven minutes of outtakes and bloopers, but most of it is just Jackie fluffing lines.
Additional Extra Features A trailer is also on this DVD.
