Freddy Got Fingered DVD (2001)

Many would disagree, but there are moments in the mania of Tom Green that are funny. This DVD isn't one of them, however. That said, if you're a hardcore fan, this DVD is as technically good a new release as you'd expect from 20th Century Fox.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Picture You can't blame the clear transfer on this DVD for your eyes deceiving you - the on-screen antics are just as gross as they look.

Sound The 5.1 mix does what it can to add loud slapstick effects to the on-screen 'Greenery'.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Audio Commentary Writer, director, and star Tom Green provides an audio commentary for this DVD. This effort can be summed up with a quote from the movie "Tango and Cash", uttered by Kurt Russell: "This really sucks!" Even Tom seems inclined to agree as he stumbles over his own incoherent ramblings, and pauses at one point to say, "Maybe I shouldn't be doing this commentary." Right on Tom, but thanks for pointing out the whacking scene.

Rated PG Version Running at three minutes and 18 seconds, this shorter cut of the film is infinitely more enjoyable than the full run, but even towards the end it's a joke spread too thin.

Featurette Four minutes of desperate persuasion that we're going to love this roadkill.

Additional Extra Features There's a trailer and four TV spots for you to avoid, and an Easter egg that's... just not funny. Still, like we said before, you can't complain about the presentation of the film.
