"Series 7: The Contenders" shocks just as well on DVD because of its TV nature, but while you'll learn some interesting facts from the director's commentary, the other extra features are surplus to requirements.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
Picture Shot on digital video, this film makes for a very clean and sharp transfer to DVD.
Sound The 5.1 sound mix works beautifully at enhancing the sensationalistic effect of all the TV-styled visual gimmicks of fast wipes, glitches, feedback, snow, and much more.
SPECIAL FEATURES
Audio Commentary Writer and director Daniel Minahan talks us through all the techniques used to create the incredible shock world of "Series 7". As he points out, the acting was all done straight, because the satiric comedy would be achieved through the editing. He also highlights footage like the truck chase, which was in fact a real chase they bought from a firm that films nothing but car calamities!
Rants and Raves No, not a section where people get to complain, but nine scenes of alternate takes of situations in the film.
Interviews Two tiny interviews so short and dull it's not worth your while pressing the button to get to them.
Extreme Promotions Two minutes of tedious footage where the crew fly poster promote the film.
