The cheerful and upbeat mood of the Irish comedy "About Adam" transfers onto a suitably pleasant DVD.
Set in Dublin, the city looks a treat thanks to the filming style, which the disc is not about to spoil with any grain or such nonsense. Care has obviously been taken with the transfer and the muted colour scheme of the movie works well.
The 5.1 sound mix adds plenty of bass to the music, which splits with verve between the speakers. There aren't many crazy effects (as you might expect from a romantic comedy), but there's thunderstorm to impress others with halfway through the film.
There are five minutes worth of cast and crew interviews that are only really of passing interest, as is the B-roll footage. So, for extra features the disc is a little light but this low budget film does turn out looking rather classy on DVD.
