Steven Seagal is a cop in a bad mood whose temper tantrums usually result in broken bones. The good news is that on DVD, those snaps, cracks, and pops (ouch!) sound even better than before.
Seagal is up against a voodoo-styled druglord who inevitably hangs out in dark smoky places. It's no problem for this disc transfer, which remains clear and doesn't let the grain come into play.
We've already covered the crunchy noises, but it's worth complimenting the 2.0 surround mix overall. It's laden with bass, which the music exploits well and there's plenty of rear speaker detail - gangster style.
The one extra feature is the original trailer. A possible interactive treat for a future re-issue might be one that removes Seagal's ponytail from the film, or perhaps just have his ponytail and no Seagal. We should have the choice in this digital age.
