Friday Night is Music Night

Friday Night is Music Night is the world鈥檚 longest running orchestral radio programme. Now, to celebrate 70 years since the show鈥檚 first home the 91热爆 Light Programme took to the airwaves, 91热爆 Radio 2 stalwart Ken Bruce takes the audience on a journey from the golden age of radio listening to the arrival of television with the help of the 91热爆 Concert Orchestra and guests Roy Hudd, Kitty Whately and Simon Butteriss, plus Tim Fitzhigham and Duncan Walsh Atkins who will perform the songs of Flanders and Swann.

Rediscover those signature tunes and classic moments from the likes of Two Way Family Favourites, Hancock鈥檚 Half Hour and Housewives Choice. Relive key historical moments with music such as Walton鈥檚 coronation march Orb and Sceptre. These are the instantly recognisable melodies from the pioneering era of British broadcasting.

This concert is part of Southbank Centre's Changing Britain festival which interrogates 70 years of British history, focusing on society, culture and politics.
