Help playing audio/video On arrival at the scene soon after the landslip happened, 91热爆 reporter Simon Hall described what he saw to 91热爆 Radio Solent's Jon Cuthill. He said: "It is an extraordinary sight. Much of the coast is like a silvery graphite colour, but now in the middle there is almost like a black streak, with coppery streaks - like a scar." The movement caused the appearance of potentially hazardous objects among the rubble which have come from a disused Victorian landfill site, last used in the 1970s, which was disturbed by the landslip. The area is no longer accessible to the public. Simon Parker, the county council's emergency planner, said the beach would be impassable for "years to come".
