Voices is a new 91热爆 project

Voices


VOICES is the largest ever celebration of the way the people of the British Isles speak today.

From Lands End to John O Groats, there is a rich range of words to describe the simplest of things.


Here on the 91热爆 Cornwall website we want to know how the people of the Duchy talk today.

We're launching a project all about language, accents and dialects across the British Isles and want you to share your thoughts on the way we talk across the county.

Never mind the difference in dialect from Scotland to Ireland, England to Wales - here in Cornwall we know the meaning of words change from north to south and east to west of the county.

Cornish Language.

More young people have been taking up the Cornish language in schools. Many people of different ages have attended Cornish lessons to learn more about this important celtic language.

Here on the 91热爆 Cornwall website we have a series of Basic Cornish lessons. You will learn what Myttin da! and Gorthugher da! mean.

Later in the series you can discover how to have basic conversations in Cornish.

The lessons are available in audio and script form. to begin

Cornish dialect.

Words used on a day-to-day basis in Cornwall change as you visit different towns and villages.

We asked popular Cornish personality Ray Shaddick, well known as being the Boy from Bude, to write about words he has used over the years in north Cornwall.
