FACTS |

Essential
oils are extracted from the flowers, fruits, leaves, stems
and roots of flowers, shrubs and trees
Ancient
civilisations such as in Greece, Egypt, China and Rome used
scented/aromatic oils for the purposes of physical, mental,
emotional, and/or spiritual well-being.
The
earliest references of aromatherapy are images on the walls
of the Lascaux caves in France which are thought to date from
approx. 18,000 B.C.
In
the 1930's French chemist Rene Maurice Gattefosse published
a book about the anti-microbial effects of essential oils
in which he used the term 'aromatherapy'.

Karen
Sandy is a 39 year old mum of three from Baldu who literally spends
about 拢5 every month on a hair cut. She buys family shampoo
and uses ordinary soap for her skin.
She
says: "I don't have time to put make-up on or do anything special
because I am a busy mum. I also don't feel I need to use lots of
lotions for my skin."
Paula
gives Karen a make-over in the studio
Paula
Riley is also 39 and a beauty therapist from St Austell. She spends
on average 拢250 per month on beauty products. She
says: "It makes me feel good when I look after my skin. The
skin is the largest organ in the human body and we need to look
after it. As a Beauty therapist I need to practice what I preach
so I buy lots of different products."
The
ladies talk to Laurence about make-up
"I
mainly spend my money on hair products, cleanser, toner, moisturiser,
maincures, massages, waxing, neck cream, eye cream, make-up and
perfume. In fact I have 12 different types of perfume".
Karen
was the victim of a make over by Paula in the studio on Laurence
Reed's radio show and Lazza didn't get off scot free either, they
trimmed his eyebrows live on air.

The
final look. Karen's other half rang up on air promising to take
her out for the night ahhh!
Karen
was impressed with the final result and said she felt pampered.
She doesn't think she will go and spend more on beauty products
but agrees every now and again it's nice to get dolled up.
