All the music on the show has a Cornish connection. Join Rachel from 2 to 5pm on Sundays on 91Èȱ¬ Radio Cornwall. Cornwall Connected shines a light on Cornishness wherever in the world it is.Ìý It may be a Cornishman working as a judge in the Falklands or an Australian travelling thousands of miles to celebrate her birthday at the Daphne DuMaurier Festival in Fowey.Ìý Equally, it can be someone who's come to live in Cornwall from elsewhere, bringing a new perspective.Ìý Fresh ingredients are being added to Cornwall's culture all the time! Cornish Associations in Australia, the USA, Canada have strong links with the programme.Ìý All the music on the show has a Cornish Connection.Ìý It may be folk, brass bands, jazz, pop or traditional choirs.Ìý It may be made in Cornwall or on the other side of the world.Ìý But it will have some claim to Cornishness - through the subject matter, the performer or the writer - or all three! Rachel herself is no stranger to performing, often taking part in 91Èȱ¬ Radio Cornwall live shows on violin or singing. Besides music, Rachel is passionate about the therapeutic power of sound and has recently qualified as a sound healer.Ìý This mainly involves using her voice, but she is always eager to try getting a sound out of any instrument!Ìý Truro has been her home for most of her life. During the rugby season, Cornwall Connected often covers matches by the Cornish Pirates.Ìý 91Èȱ¬ Radio Cornwall broadcasts live commentary of every game the Pirates play, whether home or away.
