Last year Cornwall's Mark Harris was the winner, so all eyes will be on the Cornish surfers taking part this year. Find out all the essential information. Last year's Open was a closely fought affair. With surf conditions varying from to two to four feet, the eventual winner of the Open was Cornwall's Mark Harris who narrowly defeated Matt Capel on a count-back. Nicole Morgan Sam Lamiroy, Toby Atkins, Clinton Fraser and Spencer Hargraves are all past winners. In the Women's division it was Nicole Morgan who set the standard for the rest of the year, by taking out this event and then going on to win the tour title, only losing one heat in the process. Bude's Reubyn Ash was last year's Pro Junior Champion at Saltrock. The 2009 UK Pro Surf Tour is the first event听 of the UK Pro Sur Tour. It's scheduled to run over the Whitsun Bank Holiday weekend, beginning on Saturday 23 May. The action takes place on Croyde Beach in Devon. Croyde offers one of the best beach breaks in the country giving the competitors the opportunity to get a good start on the tour after a winter training and travelling overseas. Matt Capel narrowly missed out on a win in 2008 The long Whitsun weekend is later in the year for the event and therefore open to more surfers as they return from their winter training. This prominent leg of the UKPSA tour will feature four main categories: Men's Open, Pro-Juniors, Women's Open and the Grom's Tour. The Grom's Tour includes three categories of its own; an Under-12s Open, an Under-16 Boys and Under-16 Girls.听 Saltrock are keen to maintain their support of young surfers and invest in the future of British surfing.
