Leading members of the community pulled together to raise awareness of climate change and to encourage people to save energy by taking part in a relay race from Cornwall County Council to Treliske Hospital as part of the national campaign, 'Energy Saving Week'. The event was organised by the Cornwall Energy Efficiency Advice Centre, which is managed by local energy charity Community Energy Plus. Find out what the leading members of the community have been doing as part of the campaign: Julia Tibbett, Advice Team Manager from Cornwall Energy Efficiency Advice Centre explains, "Strong community groups are crucial to delivering important messages on the ground though effective networks." "The Cornwall Energy Efficiency Advice Centre is running the campaign because we believe that Cornwall has powerful communities, which can demonstrate how networks, clubs, societies and community figures can spread the word and move people to play their part in the fight against climate change.听I have every faith that this week will help encourage everyone in Cornwall to save their 20% of their energy usage."
