Thousands attended the four day event during mid October. There were cookery demonstrations, celebrity chefs, local produce stands, wine tasting and much more. See our photo gallery. Thousands of people enjoyed the fun and the October sunshine during the Falmouth Oyster Festival. Clarissa Dickson Wright opened the event The annual event opened on Thursday 18 October. The festival began with a cookery master-class featuring celebrity chef Clarissa Dickson Wright. The four day event included a packed programme of cookery demonstrations by leading local chefs, oysters, seafood, wine and ale, children鈥檚 shell painting, sea shanties, town parade, live music and marquees packed with Cornish produce and crafts. Click on the link below to enjoy some photos from the event: New this year was 'Falmouth's Own Ready, Steady, Cook' evening, with chefs Nick Hodges from Lusty Glaze and Arty Williams from The Cove, plus live music from The Shirts. Enjoying a fishy snack The contestants were selected through a competition run in 'Inside Cornwall' magazine. The successful evening was compered by 91热爆 Radio Cornwall's Emma Lloyd. Visitors to the festival also enjoyed an entertaining evening with Tom Cunliffe, well known yachting journalist and broadcaster, and Claudia Myatt, marine illustrator and author.
