1. Pam & Ian Williams. I would like to nominate my mum and dad who live in Falmouth, they have been married for 27 years this year. They are always putting myself and my brother first and Ii would like them to have the best valentines days ever this year by doing this for them. They met when my dad was in the navy and my mum answered a pen-pal advert and started to write to him and they have been together ever since. Their marriage has been a model of what a marriage should be and I myself am getting married in Falmouth next year I hope that my marriage will be as loving as theirs. So please pick them to have this valentines day dinner as it will be a great surprise for them. 2. John Weller (husband). Met in 1989 & fell in love at first sight, Still very much in love but need to renew the romance in our life so a romantic meal would be wonderful. 3. Ed Stebbing- Allen. 18 months ago Ed's wife had just left him and I had been on my own for a very long time after a disastrous relationship with an older man. A mutual friend introduced us and the next thing I know we are in love. I would like to thank him for helping me to allow myself to be loved again. 4. James Sargison. The most perfect man I've ever met. Basically - he turned my life upside down and I don't know what I would do without him. We spend a lot of time in Cornwall although we live in the Midlands and I know that this would be the perfect gift for him. He has applied for the Police and the Fire Brigade recently because he wants a job where he can help people. This is absolutely normal for James, it describes him completely. He's a wonderful person and I would love to give him a gift to show him so. 5. Jean Wild. My mother spent many years running a hotel on the Roseland and has always loved the area.Ìý Now she is on her own we often go back to St Mawes to reminisce about past times - she'd love to go to the Tresanton it would be a wonderful treat for her and would show how much we love her. 6. I would like to nominate my wife Maria. 3 years ago I weighed 30 stone, I was suffering from depression, uncontrolled diabetes and asthma. I started a health and fitness regime and now weigh 14 1/2 stone. I would not have been able to achieve this life saving weight loss without the fantastic support I got from her. I will be leaving her for 17 days very soon to trek to Everest Base Camp for the British Heart foundation. I would love to take Maria out just show her how much I appreciate her love and support. 7. I would like to nominate my husband, Robert (Bob). I would like him to have this treat as 11 years ago he had a serious illness which resulted in him having to retire early from his job and took a long time to recover. He has since had other less serious illnesses and operations and has always put me and the children first. Now its his turn to be put first. 8. I'd like to nominate my parents, Russell and Jenny Collins.Ìý They've been married for 42 years and hardly ever spent a day apart.Ìý Although times have not always been easy and certainly I know I've given them cause to worry a little in the past (not why my dad has had a full head of grey hair for quite some time!) but they still adore each other after all these years and that's a huge thing in this day and age!Ìý Sometimes I think about the fact that they've been married so long and still enjoy their time together, even holding hands like teenagers, that it always makes me reach for the sick bag but I think ultimately that there's a bit of jealousy there because that's what I guess I've always wanted for myself.Ìý They often entertain my brother and his family or me and mine and share lovely meals with us but rarely eat out.Ìý I'd love them to have the opportunity to share a romantic meal together with my love and thanks. 9. Jenni Rumbles. We have been going out for 4 months, we both grew up in Cornwall and attended the same secondary school. The first time our eyes met I knew I wanted her, 8 years later now I do. We both go to different Uni's and enjoy our times there but miss Cornwall sooo much. it would be sooo nice to win Jen this prize as she has had a very stressful year and this the least she deserves! Thankyou for reading. 10. My husband, Steve, who has, for over 30 years put up withÌý a family that could rival the Forsyth Saga! Running a cafe, working six days a week, he rarely has any time to himself and an evening out with no cooking and clearing would be a welcome break. 11. Ros and Jon Ellis from Hayle. My best friend and her husband have had a really bad year, her father died very suddenly after a short illness. My friend and her husband looked after him and visited him every day for seven weeks whilst he was in hospital in Truro. Ros and Jon are the best friends that anyone could have. They always think of others and try to help as much as they can. Ros is unable to work after a major road traffic accident several years ago. They have both given myself and my husband so much love and care so I would love them to win as we live in the north and do not get to see them as often as we would like. Ros and I have been friends for 31 years since school. It would mean a great deal to me and my husband if Ros and Jon were to win. 12. Leslie Penna says: I should like to nominate my wife Susan Penna. Susan travels daily from Rose to Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell, as the Education Administrator. Besides a full time job, helping the funds of a small dairy farm, she has also kept house and brought up three children. The eldest of which is getting married this year, I feel she deserves a little pampering. |
