Yvonne says she's good at sticking to things that require just will power, like drinking less and eating more healthily.Ìý She has also kept to her resolution to cycle to work in Truro every day.

Richard Cann from Newquay thinks discipline is the key to resolution success.Ìý As a soldier in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, he knows something about that. Having said that, Richard says he's never managed to keep to his resolution to stop smoking for more than a month.Ìý So this year, he's going to choose another goal.Ìý In the end, he says New Year's Resolutions are just words, but everyone keeps making them because it's traditional.

Jill Smith from Hayle says she usually doesn't even think about making resolutions.Ìý If she does make any, they tend to be about losing weight after eating too much over Christmas...but they rarely last more than a couple of weeks, and she can't remember any that have been successful! Jill believes resolutions are a waste of time, and pale into insignificance once the New Year has come and gone.
