| Laurence Reed |
"It's no nonsense calls and comment." That's how the presenter of the award-winning, lunchtime phone-in, describes the two and a half hour daily programme. Laurence Reed has been presenting the show for the past eleven years, interviewing virtually every household politican known to man; from the present Prime Minister, to Lady Thatcher. Along the way Laurence has interviewed Fank Dobson, Mo Mowlam, and Charles Kennedy. The programme has helped thousands of disgruntled listeners since Laurence has been in the chair. The issues have ranged from replacing faulty electricial goods, sorting out passports, fixing phones and mending water leaks. Whatever the complaint, Laurence and his team have sorted it. Laurence's show is very much a family affair. His wife has even stood in for him on Comic Relief Day. Laurence stayed at home looking after his four children, Danika, Jack, Georgia and Harriet - we're still not sure who had the easier day. Laurence is always up for a challenge. Away from the microphone he had taken on other golfers in charity matches, riding motorbikes through walls of fire, and even grappling with a 15 foot python. Not forgetting his amazing tackling against the Eastenders crew last year! Laurence now lives with his wife, four children, cat and goldfish in most rural north Cornwall. In fact the nearest neighbour is a third of a mile away, so no-one moans about the kids and antics on the trampoline.听 The lunchtime presenter moved to Cornwall when he was just 13, so considers himself to be 'almost local'. Before journalism Laurence ran a string of gift shops, he was an air traffic controller in the air force, and was Cornwall's best mobile DJ (or so he claims). Listen to Laurence, Monday to Friday, 12-2.30pm. Call and take part on Truro (01872) 22 22 22. Do you want to contact Laurence's show? Click on the link below to email the Lunchtime Phone In:
