The surf film competition and party will showcase surf/skate/extreme sports and marine films made by local filmmakers. Lucy Frears, Film Festival Director says: "We start off the night with an exciting body-boarding feature by Mickey Smith – then at 9pm the party really kicks off with three local bands playing and Rawplug Sounds will DJ while the films are screened. All 1000 people there will have the chance to vote which local filmmaker wins the Big Wednesday surfboard." Short films screened on the night:
