Alex Parks sings for survival on Fame Academy

Alex and Peter were forced to make up after last weeks fall out as they had to perform a live duet on Sunday evening's show down.

If you missed the argument of the year (where were you?!!) then here's a quick recap. The two alternative rockers were sitting on the sofa comparing song notes, when Peter told Alex very bluntly that she had bad breath. Alex, obviously deeply offended, went off on one swearing at Peter saying that he was disrespectful of other people's feelings. Alex stormed off upstairs not even hearing a small 'sorry' pass through Peter's lips.

So that was the big break up, but the same day, singing coach David Grant told the house mates that Alex and Peter would be performing "Baby It's Cold Outside" on Sunday night. It's a very 'tongue in cheek song' previously sung by Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews, so the two had a lot to live up to.

They put their differences aside and did what they did best - sing. There were a couple of small disagreements about how they would sing the number, but as they say, it was alright on the night!

It was a very entertaining performance and it was really refreshing to see both stars sing a completely different type of song. Listen to the cheeky duet in our report.

As well as the duet, Alex sang U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" to keep her place in the academy. This is what the teachers had to say about it:

	I think you are talented. I didn't like you singing that song. I don't think you grabbed that one and you fell of a few of the notes. I don't think that song suits you so well.

JohnnyBoyRice Alex Parks is the most unique artist I have heard for a long time. She is the first who could actually gain serious commercial success. The emotion in her singing is incredible and I cried during one of her performances. I have one fear and that is the money men will not realise what Joe Public want and will have her churning out cover versions. The music industry has lost its bottle and hopefully Alex can restore some credibility by retaining her originality. She is not a clone and she is the real deal. She is absolutely gorgeous and sexy as well and that is my primal aspect of my persona showing through. Her talent is what will rocket her to the top. It must be Cornwall in Lexi's veins that makes her so different and appealing: something real and close to the people compared to the stars of "industrial" music. Chris, Norfolk I have been mesmerised by Alex's extraordinarily controlled power in her delivery - completely uneffected and natural - and all from a waif-like wee girl! She was my 'vote' (and I did regularly!) from the start. I was spellbound from the first hearing. I heard Lennox and Moyet in her - not that she was mimicking at all - just a similar power and sincerity. Far from mimicking (unlike the drop-dead pretty Carolynne who did a wonderful karaoke of Shinia Twain) she totally reinterpreted some very idiosyncratic and iconic numbers and diminished them in no way by her treatment. I freely admit that I wept freely during her performances I was so moved. On top of her immense talent she has a disarmingly unassuming personality and happens to be as pretty as paint, too! She'll go all the way for sure: Jonathan Ross said it all when he compared her to the 'greats'. I'll be first in the queue when her albums get released! She had such stage presence and charisma it really did not matter. I have been fortunate to have been able to interview most of the evicted students as they left the academy (many thanks beeb) and most of them have been in agreement that Alex has a fantastic talent and will go on to win this show.
